Gingersnappy is the heart-project of Chantell Smethers—business analyst per career, lifelong creative by nature, & proud dog mom to Catalina & Beau.
"I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with the intention of helping people, & added a minor in Visual Arts because, well… artist. I’ve always been drawn to both the analytical & the creative—curious about how people tick & passionate about making beautiful things by hand.
For years, I balanced a career in data & operations while dreaming up designs, sketching ideas, & making gifts for my loved ones. Creativity has always been my happy place, & launching Gingersnappy was a dream I carried in my back pocket for as long as I can remember.
Now that dream is alive & shining.
From adorable dog bandanas & playful jewelry to cozy sundries, everything I make is rooted in joy, comfort, & a little bit of chaos (the good kind). I believe in bold color combos, pieces that make people smile, & letting personality show through every stitch.
Gingersnappy is proudly small-batch & handmade with care—no mass production here. I’m passionate about creating with intention, minimizing waste, & making unique items available to everyone.
When I’m not sewing or scheming up my next adventurous project, you’ll find me exploring the Pacific Northwest with my husband & our two pups.
